It's the End of an Era for Wild Turkey
"desire to push the boundaries of traditional bourbon-making by experimenting with aging techniques and finishes."
""This is a project me and dad have been working on for quite some time," Bruce says. "We know we wanted the last one to be a collaborative thing.""
Wild Turkey, founded in 1942 and based in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, is owned by Campari and has been led by the Russell family for more than six decades, with Jimmy and Eddie Russell in the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame. The Master's Keep series originated from Eddie Russell's desire to push traditional bourbon-making through experimental aging techniques and finishes and has been an annual, limited release for a decade. Beacon, the final installment, blends 16- and 10-year bourbons selected by Eddie and Bruce Russell respectively, is bottled at 118 proof, and offers candied orange, brown sugar, vanilla, cherry cola, tea, oak spice, a thick mouthfeel, and a short finish.
