Astoria is leaning into one of the best and underrated summer fruits with a festival next month. The Astoria Fig Festival will feature participating restaurants like Sotto La Luna and Cafe Renis with fig specials from Monday, September 1, through Sunday, September 7. That last day will be a whole block party with tree care, a community cookbook station with fig recipes, a raffle benefitting Astoria Food Pantry, and a neighborhood potluck (with online registrations). It's run by the 31st Avenue Open Street organization.
