Williamsburg, Virginia will host a two-day Pancake Festival on Sept. 26–27, 2025 in partnership with CultureFix. The city brands itself the Pancake Capital of the World because it has more pancake house restaurants than any other place. The event opens Friday evening for National Pancake Day at the Hellenic Center with pancakes, live entertainment, a Pancake Lab sponsored by Capitol Pancake House, a kids' zone for pancake decorating, and face painting; guests are encouraged to wear pajamas. Saturday morning moves to Duke of Gloucester Street during the Farmers Market with activities such as the Sausage Sprint, a dachshund race, a children's book reading, and the World Pancake Eating Championship featuring professional eaters.
"We've embraced our identity as the Pancake Capital of the World, and now we're serving up a festival that reflects the warmth, creativity, and community spirit Williamsburg is known for," Edward Harris, the CEO of Visit Williamsburg, said in a statement obtained by Travel + Leisure. "Our hope is that this becomes an annual tradition that not only brings residents together but also draws visitors from near and far to experience all the charm our destination has to offer."
"The team said that this two-day event will come packed with "delicious food, lively entertainment, and family-friendly fun that brings the community and visitors together." It all kicks off on Friday with National Pancake Day, with an evening of pancakes (because who doesn't love breakfast for dinner?) and live entertainment at the Hellenic Center. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite PJs to the event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m."
"On Saturday from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m., the pancake party will move to Duke of Gloucester Street in Merchant's Square during the Farmers Market, with more family-friendly activities including the Sausage Sprint, a dachshund dog race, a pancake-themed children's book reading, and the must-see World Pancake Eating Championship, where professional eaters like Miki Sudo and Nick Wehry will compete b
