Joey Chestnut secured his 17th title at the 2025 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest by consuming 70.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Despite being unable to break his record of 76 hot dogs, he demonstrated why he is the world's top competitive eater. Last year's champion, Patrick Bertoletti, placed second with 46.5 hot dogs, and Australia's James Webb took third with 45.5. Miki Sudo won the women's competition, eating 33 hot dogs. Chestnut emphasized the importance of mental calmness and regular practice to maintain performance.
"It feels great to be back. It's everything I imagined - great energy, great competition."
"I have to remember all the little things: staying calm, breathe. The biggest thing I need to practice is telling myself to calm down."
