The world's largest scotch egg, weighing 8kg and measuring 79.5cm in circumference, was created by food content creators Oliver Paterson and Phoenix Ross. They aimed to break the long-standing record of 6.2kg held by Clarence Court. The pair, who met in April, shared similar personalities and decided to collaborate on the attempt. After a failed attempt on 10 June, they succeeded in their goal through careful preparation, cooking the egg by hard boiling, and covering it in sausage meat and breadcrumbs before deep frying.
We had the goal of making the world's largest scotch egg, weighing about 8kg and with a circumference of 79.5cm, breaking the 6.2kg record that stood for 17 years.
Phoenix only met Oli at an event in April, but they quickly recognized their similar personalities and decided to collaborate on the world record attempt.
After a failed first attempt on 10 June due to lack of planning, they returned a week later with better preparation and successfully made the giant scotch egg.
The successful scotch egg was made by hard boiling an ostrich egg, wrapping it in sausage meat, covering it in bread crumbs, and deep frying.
