France, Germany and UK aim to restart Iran nuclear talks
"We are determined to reinitiate negotiations with Iran and the United States towards a comprehensive, durable and verifiable agreement that ensures Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon."
"we have no plans for negotiations at this stage"
"Of course, diplomacy -- in the sense of maintaining contacts and consultations -- will continue,"
"Whenever we feel that diplomacy can be effective, we will certainly make decisions based on the country's interests and priorities,"
France, Germany and Britain will seek to restart stalled nuclear negotiations with Iran and the United States. The move followed UN sanctions reimposed on Iran through a snapback mechanism that took effect on September 28 and was initiated by the three countries. Iran stated it has no plans to negotiate at this stage and is examining the consequences and implications of the sanctions. Iranian officials said diplomacy and consultations will continue and future decisions will be based on national interests. The United States and Israel accuse Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons, and the United States bombed Iranian nuclear sites on June 22. The E3 called the snapback appropriate and warned that Iran's nuclear program threatens global peace and security. A 2015 agreement established regulations on Iran's nuclear activities.
