Polymarket Takes Bets Over Which Escaped New Orleans Convicts Will Be Captured First
Briefly

Polymarket, a cryptocurrency trading and betting platform, started taking bets on the capture of inmates who escaped from Orleans Parish Prison after ten inmates fled through a hole in a wall. The platform listed six of the ten escapees and their odds of capture within a week. A maintenance worker has been arrested for helping facilitate the escape, and initial captures have already occurred. Most of the escapees face serious charges including second-degree murder.
As of writing, inmates Jermaine Donald and Derrick Groves are sitting at a 22% chance of capture by Friday, while Antoine Massey, Leo Tate, and Lenton Vanburen are sitting at 23%.
A maintenance worker at the prison, Sterling Williams, was arrested on Tuesday and accused of aiding the escape. Williams allegedly turned off the water to the toilet after being instructed by one of the prisoners.
