France and Indonesia have called for mutual recognition between Israel and the Palestinians during a recent meeting, supporting a two-state solution to end the conflict. French President Emmanuel Macron highlighted the need for a political resolution, announcing plans for a conference on Gaza in collaboration with Saudi Arabia. Both Macron and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto opposed Israeli territorial expansion in Gaza and stressed the importance of recognizing both the State of Israel and Palestinian rights for lasting peace and security in the region, reinforcing France's commitment to fair Middle Eastern policies.
Only a political solution will make it possible to restore peace and build for the long term.
Together with Saudi Arabia, we will soon be organising a conference on Gaza in New York to give fresh impetus to the recognition of a Palestinian state.
