At $549, Lenovo's Legion Go S gaming handheld is suddenly a good deal

Steam Deck OLED 512GB increased from $549 to $789 after restocking, making it harder to buy. A discounted alternative is the Lenovo Legion Go S at $549.99 from $729.99 at Woot. The device was not well received at launch, partly because its price did not match performance versus Valve’s handheld in some games. The Legion Go S has an 8-inch 120Hz screen and ergonomics that are better than most gaming handhelds, and it has improved usability since Windows 11 issues in handheld mode. The Go S is not broadly recommended, but the current deal makes it a more reasonable option. A higher-performance Ryzen Z1 Extreme version offers 10% to 40% better performance than the Ryzen Z2 Go, but it is not recommended at Lenovo’s $1,452.99 price.
