
Bose released the $299 Lifestyle Ultra Speaker as a wired Wi‑Fi speaker designed to work best on a home network rather than relying on Bluetooth portability. The lack of an independent battery aligns it more with wired Sonos models, limiting outdoor use without power access. Its wired design provides ample power for multiple drivers, including a forward-firing woofer and tweeter plus an up-firing tweeter and midrange combination. Bose’s up-firing driver arrangement adds perceived space and height, making the speaker sound larger than its physical size. Sound performance was experienced during a demo and confirmed during home testing.
