"Vendor Intracom Telecom and service provider GeoLinks said this week that they will conduct the first U.S. demonstration of GeoLinks' multi-gig fixed wireless access (FWA) speeds via 29/31GHz licensed spectrum. The demonstration, which will be conducted at the "WISPAPALOOZA 2025" conference in Las Vegas, will feature Intracom Telecom's WiBAS G5 Point-to-Multipoint Smart Base Station. WISPALALOOZA is scheduled for next week."
"The announcement of the demonstration came about a week after Intracom Telecom and enterprise connectivity provider BroadbandOne announced a strategic partnership to expand their broadband points of presence across Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida. The cooperative deal will combine Intracom Telecom's mmWave fixed wireless access (FWA) technology and BroadOne's service model. FWA is gaining an ever-firmer foothold. In early May, Horowitz Research released research that said that 56% of non-FWA subscribers are likely to consider it when it comes available to them."
"Intracom Telecom did not comment about how far multi-gig speeds could be delivered over FWA. "This installation at the Rio Hotel not only demonstrates the power of our joint offering but also lays the foundation for WISPs to serve enterprise, wholesale, MDUs and multi-tenant markets with fiber-like performance at a fraction of the infrastructure cost," Intracom Telecom USA CEO Kyriakos Vergos said in a press release about the multi-gig FWA technology."
Intracom Telecom and GeoLinks will demonstrate multi-gig fixed wireless access (FWA) over 29/31GHz licensed spectrum at WISPAPALOOZA 2025 in Las Vegas, using Intracom's WiBAS G5 Point-to-Multipoint Smart Base Station. The Fixed Wireless solution leverages Intracom's technology over GeoLinks' nationwide licensed LMDS spectrum to enable WISPs to deliver fiber-like services. The announcement followed a strategic partnership between Intracom and BroadbandOne to expand broadband points of presence across several states. The press release emphasizes the value of licensed spectrum for FWA, while Intracom did not disclose distance capabilities for multi-gig speeds. Market research shows rising consumer interest and growing FWA penetration.
