Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's headline new display feature confirmed by One UI 8.5
"Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra won't have many upgrades compared to its predecessor, but one of the rumored ones is the ability to make its screen invisible to anyone but you, the owner. And now this feature has actually been confirmed by One UI 8.5, the build that the S26 Ultra will be running when it launches. It's called Privacy Display and when you enable it, people around you won't be able to see what's on your screen."
"According to the One UI 8.5 screenshots you can see above, there will be two intensities for Privacy Display - the default one, but also a "Maximum privacy protection" setting which presumably takes things up a notch, allowing for a narrower angle of view where the screen is actually visible. Privacy Display can also turn on automatically under certain conditions, which presumably you will be able to set using the Modes and Routines app."
Galaxy S26 Ultra will include a Privacy Display that makes the screen unreadable to nearby onlookers by narrowing viewing angles. The feature offers two intensity levels: a default setting and a "Maximum privacy protection" mode that further restricts the visible angle. Privacy Display can activate automatically based on user-defined conditions via the Modes and Routines app and is also accessible through a Quick Settings toggle. The feature targets improved privacy in public places such as public transit. One UI 8.5 confirms the presence and behavior of Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra.
