Microsoft has begun to lift a compatibility hold on wallpaper customization applications after imposing it prior to the Windows 11 24H2 release. The hold affected devices using popular customization tools, causing issues like wallpapers not displaying correctly. Although the safeguard is being removed as developers update their applications, Microsoft has yet to clarify the root cause of the incompatibility. Users can now update to Windows 11 24H2 but may need to uninstall or update their wallpaper applications to resolve potential issues.
