Deutsche Bahn to offer discounted last-minute tickets for long-distance trains
""From May 9th our customers will be able to book last-minute fares for the first time," said Michael Peterson, Executive Board Member for Long-Distance Travel."
""The last-minute ticket offer will initially be valid for six months, with the option to extend," said Peterson."
""This move is designed to provide security and stability at a time when travelling is becoming more expensive due to higher fuel and kerosene prices," stated DB CEO Evelyn Palla."
Deutsche Bahn plans to introduce last-minute ticket deals for long-distance travel, starting May 9th. Customers can book tickets for the following week every Saturday and Sunday, with prices beginning at 6.99. Discounts may apply for BahnCard holders. The offer will be available only for trains with available seats, making it more likely to find bargains outside peak times. This initiative follows a 12-month freeze on long-distance ticket prices, aimed at providing stability amid rising travel costs due to increased fuel prices.
