Germany, first MAN e-buses handed over to Wupsi in Leverkusen. It'll deploy 56 zero emission buses within this year - Sustainable Bus
Briefly

German transport operator Wupsi in the Leverkusen area is set on transitioning to zero-emission buses by 2034. In late 2023, they ordered 56 electric buses, including battery-electric and hydrogen models, to improve public transport sustainability. The initial electric buses from MAN will be delivered between April and August 2025, while hydrogen buses are expected by mid-2025. A significant investment of €16.8 million, supported by federal and regional funding, also aims at upgrading infrastructure for efficient charging and refueling, highlighting Wupsi's commitment to a greener future.
"Electric motors convert around 80% of the energy into motion and achieve an efficiency of 64%, taking into account losses during charging and the provision of electricity to chargers. By comparison, a diesel engine only achieves a value of 20%."
"The €16.8 million vehicle investment is co-funded by the Federal Ministry for Transport, while over €45 million from North Rhine-Westphalia supports charging and hydrogen refueling infrastructure."
