Kildare hospital urge public to consider alternative care amid surge in demand
Naas General Hospital is experiencing a very busy period with a high volume of patients needing admission. Management is urging people with non-urgent symptoms to consider alternative healthcare options because some patients may wait longer while teams prioritize care based on clinical need. Anyone needing urgent or emergency care should go to the hospital or contact emergency services without delay. Alternative services include local pharmacists, GPs, the Naas Hospital Injury Unit, and the GP out-of-hours service KDOC. The Injury Unit treats broken bones, dislocations, minor burns, and other minor injuries and is located less than five minutes from the main hospital. KDOC provides appointment-only urgent care with locations in Naas and Celbridge, operating evenings and mornings on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays.
