Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and UnitedHealthcare have signed a new multiyear agreement that guarantees UHC's commercial members continued in-network access to MSK. The agreement, effective immediately, incorporates rate adjustments that align with other National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in Manhattan. This development ensures that both existing and new UHC-insured patients can access cancer care at MSK without disruption. Leaders from both organizations expressed commitment to delivering the highest standard of care and acknowledged the personal impact of the negotiations on patients and families.
"We have reached an agreement with UnitedHealthcare that protects access to MSK for thousands of patients and ensures we can continue delivering the highest standard of cancer care," said Selwyn M. Vickers, MD, FACS, President & CEO of MSK.
"Our renewed relationship provides continued, uninterrupted network access to MSK for people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare and Oxford employer-sponsored commercial plans."
"We understand how difficult and deeply personal this negotiation has been for people and their families," said Junior Harewood, UnitedHealthcare CEO, New York.
