Beginning Jan. 1, eligible California high school seniors who meet CSU admission requirements will receive automatic admission offers to 16 participating California State University campuses, with the first cohort applying for fall 2027. High school districts will upload student records through a platform called College.edu, and qualifying seniors will be notified of automatic admission to those campuses. Students will then complete a few questions on the official CSU application and select which of the 16 campuses to formally apply to. Six highly competitive CSU campuses are excluded: San Jose State, San Diego State, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach. The program expands a Riverside County pilot intended to simplify enrollment and provide clearer pathways to degrees.
