"The NCAA has not and will not grant eligibility to any players who have signed an NBA contract,"
Amari Bailey has hired an agent and a lawyer to pursue NCAA eligibility and return to college basketball for another season. Bailey played one season at UCLA in 2022-23, entered the 2023 NBA draft, was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the second round, appeared in 10 NBA games on a two-way contract, spent two years in the G League, and was cut over the summer. Bailey began exploring a return in 2025 and said he left UCLA with "a lot to prove left on the table." The NCAA states it will not grant eligibility to players who signed NBA contracts, though recent court rulings have challenged that ban.
