The shooting occurred just after 4 p.m. in the Barus and Holley engineering and physics building during a review session for a Principles of Economics exam. The Providence campus was locked down until Sunday morning while law enforcement ended the order. Authorities identified and detained a 24-year-old man originally from Wisconsin as a person of interest. State police and FBI agents remained on campus. Several students attempted to aid the wounded.
