Labouré College of Healthcare will shut down in August. Curry College plans to absorb Labouré's nursing program, subject to regulatory approval. Labouré cited persistent financial and enrollment challenges and regulatory hurdles as reasons for closure. The board sought a partner with the ability and resources to serve current and future students and selected Curry College to continue accessible nursing education for adult learners and diverse healthcare professionals. Labouré's head count fell from 1,188 in fall 2020 to 530 in fall 2024. Labouré is the fourth private nonprofit to announce closure this year.
