On September 4, 925 King Æthelstan was crowned at Kingston-upon-Thames. He is commonly linked to the Battle of Brunanburh but also pursued political consolidation across Britain. Æthelstan pursued military and diplomatic measures to assert overlordship over neighboring kingdoms and to integrate regional rulers. His reign advanced legal, ecclesiastical, and dynastic initiatives that strengthened central authority.
