How often Brits say sorry per day revealed - do you over-apologise?
Briefly

A recent study revealed that 90% of Brits frequently apologize for minor incidents, such as someone bumping into them or having poor phone connectivity. On average, individuals utter 'sorry' nine times daily, culminating in 3,285 occurrences annually. Nearly a third of participants saw this apologetic behavior as a distinctive British trait. Surprisingly, many struggle to apologize for significant matters, with two-thirds finding it easier to say sorry for trivial issues and more than half delaying apologies for serious relationship issues.
Experts have warned that while we often say sorry without thinking, we can struggle to apologise for things that really matter.
Nearly a third said they recognise the need to apologise for the smallest things as a uniquely British trait.
That sentiment is echoed by the survey’s findings: two thirds said it is easier to say sorry for something small than for something bigger.
Bethany Day, Brand Manager at Interflora, states: 'We're a nation that says sorry without thinking - for sneezing, for asking too many questions.'
