Bone Keeper review there's a critter in the caves in serviceable Brit horror
"The movie opens with some punching-above-its budget special effects explaining the origins of the flesh-eater, which crash landed on Earth with a meteorite."
"Olivia's mother has disappeared while searching for him. So Olivia heads to the caves with a group of mates, who feel as if they've been dreamed up in a 20-minute character development brainstorm."
"The creature they find down in the caves is a variation on horror critters you've seen in other movies, but deserves points for delivering a couple of jumps in spite of some shoddy CGI."
"Bone Keeper is a serviceable horror that at times feels like a B-movie without the fun, containing scenes that could almost work as a spoof."
Bone Keeper is a British horror film that begins with a tentacled predator attacking a Neanderthal. The creature, which crash-landed on Earth, resides in caves. Olivia, played by Sarah Alexandra Marks, searches for her missing mother and grandfather, both linked to the creature. Accompanied by friends, they venture into the caves, where they are picked off one by one. The film features crude direction, a semi-famous YouTuber, and a mix of familiar horror elements, resulting in a serviceable but flawed experience with some entertaining moments.
