Actor Delroy Lindo was approached by filmmaker Ryan Coogler to star in Sinners, a story about twin brothers opening a club in 1932 Mississippi. Despite not being a pianist, Lindo's past experience from Spike Lee's Crooklyn intrigued Coogler. The plot thickens as Lindo's character, Delta Slim, faces a disastrous first night with vampires interfering in their club's opening. Lindo shares that working with Coogler started off with script exchanges that fueled their collaboration, leading to an exciting narrative twist with his character's struggles against supernatural threats.
"Once we started exchanging on that level, we were off to the races." Delroy Lindo recalls his collaboration with Ryan Coogler as they developed the film Sinners.
"Imagine a group of blood-sucking vampires showing up and asking to be let in!" Delroy Lindo humorously sets up the premise of the story in Sinners as it takes a dark turn.
