UAE Team Emirates-XRG has secured a three-year contract extension for British cyclist Adam Yates, maintaining a strong roster through at least the 2028 season. This extension reflects the team's commitment to experience and leadership, particularly as Yates will be co-leading alongside Juan Ayuso in upcoming races. The team currently has six riders under contract through 2028 or later, including promising talents like Isaac Del Toro and Jan Christen. Yates has proven his capabilities with notable performances, including a third-place finish at the Tour de France 2023 and multiple wins since joining the team.
Yates joined the team from Ineos Grenadiers for the 2023 season, finishing third at the Tour de France that summer and also wearing yellow after winning the opening stage.
The move to keep 32-year-old Yates on board "marks a commitment to experience, depth, and leadership", the team said, with the Briton set to join Ayuso as co-leader at the upcoming Giro d'Italia.
"It's a great feeling to extend my time with UAE Team Emirates-XRG," Yates said. "I've felt at home here from day one. The team environment, support staff, and ambition all align perfectly with where I want to be in my career."
