In a suburban Los Angeles neighborhood, a stray puppy, Duke, defended himself against five coyotes in a dramatic 45-minute standoff captured on security footage. Despite being surrounded and attacked, Duke showcased remarkable fight instincts, turning and barking to ward off his attackers. The situation ended when the homeowners intervened the next morning. After the heroic encounter, Duke was taken in by Orange County Animal Care, and as of Thursday morning, was available for adoption and had already found a potential new home. He has a friendly demeanor and enjoys playing with other dogs.
He knew how to protect himself, and fight them off and kind of back into a corner against that little area there. He was able to fight them off unbelievably.
Duke is a shy but friendly boy who loves hanging out with other dogs. Once he warms up, he enjoys doing zoomies, playing in the pool, and engaging with his handlers.
