The Dodgers lost 6-1 to the Diamondbacks after wasting early offensive chances with sloppy baserunning and gifting runs on defense. Tyler Glasnow delivered seven strong innings, allowing four hits, three runs, zero walks, and striking out six while throwing 100 pitches. Early concern arose over bleeding from Glasnow's hand, though it did not appear serious. Glasnow retired many batters in succession before the seventh inning unraveled with a Corbin Carroll leadoff homer and consecutive doubles by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Blaze Alexander. A misplayed throw by Enrique Hernandez and lack of backup allowed an additional run to score.
Tyler Glasnow has had some ups and downs so far this year, especially with regards to his command, but today was more like what the Dodgers are looking for out of him. Early on there was some weird concern about bleeding from his hand, though it didn't appear to be serious.
Glasnow started by retiring the first 10 he faced before hitting a batter. He then retired the next six batters before giving up an infield single for his first hit allowed, thought he got through that inning without trouble.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. followed with a double that bounced in front of , and Blaze Alexander then doubled to the base of the wall in right to put them both in scoring position. After a sac fly to Pages scored a run, his throw couldn't be fielded by Enrique Hernandez and Glasnow didn't backup the play, so Alexander scored to make it 3-0. One of Glasnow's best starts, marred by some sloppy play and late sequencing: 7 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 6 K, 100 Pitches.
