Dodgers' Alex Vesia Provides Major Injury Update, Return Timeline
Briefly

Alex Vesia was placed on the injured list with a right oblique strain that flared up while playing catch. Vesia reported no specific pull or grab and expects the stint to be short-term. He expressed confidence in resuming his normal throwing routine and believes he can return after the 15-day minimum, potentially by mid-September. The Dodgers have dealt with multiple pitching injuries this season, and Vesia becomes the latest reliever sidelined. Vesia has been a reliable high-leverage option, posting a 2.75 ERA with 69 strikeouts across 52.1 innings, and last threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
"There was no pull or grab or anything that made me concerned," Vesia said. "I think (Roberts), all of our training staff is on the same page, just making sure that we knock it out now, make sure it doesn't get worse. There's no need to push it. I'm very confident that I can resume throwing in my normal routine. So we'll take it one day at a time, and I believe in the 15 days we'll be good to go."
