Blake Snell's return from the injured list is not imminent, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. With 13 L.A. pitchers currently injured, the Dodgers focus on ensuring players are healthy for the postseason. Snell, out since April 6 with shoulder inflammation, is part of this strategy as the team aims for a strong second half. The team advises that Snell should be pain-free and build arm strength before returning. Signed to a significant contract, Snell's role as a key pitcher has been challenged by injury setbacks.
I think with Blake (Treinen), just appreciating the fact that we're going to need him in the second half and beyond, we have time so take the time that way when he gets back, we can just go from there and not look back.
Certainly pain-free is one thing, and just building up arm strength. They've actually both been through this, so there's a point of reference for both those guys.
