Latest Roki Sasaki update puts doubt on return to Dodgers rotation in 2025
Briefly

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed concerns over Roki Sasaki's recovery from a right shoulder impingement, indicating he won't rush anything. Sasaki, who was on the 15-day injured list since May 13, has faced issues escalating his throwing intensity and remains in a light catch state. Although he's not experiencing pain, there is discomfort. Both Roberts and pitching coach Mark Prior emphasized the importance of Sasaki feeling confident and healthy before resuming more rigorous throwing activities, leading to a stagnant rehab process that delays his potential return in 2025.
"He's just not feeling that he can kind of ramp it up. So I gather that we're trying to hold the baseball a little bit until he feels that we can get going again," Roberts said.
"I think right now we've got to get him to a position where he feels confident in his ability to throw the baseball," Prior said.
