GLAD Law filed civil rights complaints with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities against Yale New Haven Health and Connecticut Children's Medical Center, alleging unlawful termination of gender-affirming medical care for patients under 19. The complaints assert discrimination by ending medically necessary treatment for transgender youth while continuing the same medications for non-transgender youth. Families reported sudden loss of care and scramble to find new providers. Connecticut Children's said it would wind down its pediatric gender-affirming program, citing a complex and evolving landscape. Yale New Haven Health stopped hormone-based care for under-19 patients but continued mental-health and other services. The moves removed the state's two largest pediatric providers of such care.
