'Drag Race' winner Tyra Sanchez claims they're suing RuPaul, Michelle Visage, World of Wonder - LGBTQ Nation
"Before my words are twisted. Before blogs attempt to paint me how they see fit. Here's my full transparency regarding my lawsuit against RuPaul's Drag Race,"
"For over a decade, Defendants, acting collectively and in concert, have engaged in a pattern of conduct designed to discredit, disparage, and destroy Ross's professional reputation, with reckless disregard for the truth and with the intent to incite hatred, harassment, and ostracization within the entertainment industry and among the public,"
"This deliberate narrative that Ross's Season 2 victory was undeserved fueled years of harassment, blackballing and reputational harm,"
James Ross, known professionally as Tyra Sanchez, alleges that he is suing RuPaul Charles, Michelle Visage, and production company World of Wonder for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light, and tortious interference with prospective economic advantage. He posted a January 4 Facebook statement that included a draft legal complaint. Ross claims a decade-long pattern of conduct intended to discredit and destroy his professional reputation and accuses Visage of promoting a narrative that his Season 2 win was undeserved, which he says fueled harassment, blackballing, and reputational harm. He also alleges that WOW filed a false police report accusing him of threatening to "blow up DragCon."
