Hateful homophobe Rand Paul says gay CDC official's 'lifestyle' made him unfit to be in government
Briefly

Demetre Daskalakis resigned as director of the CDC's Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, citing an inability to serve in an environment that treats the CDC as a tool for policies that do not reflect scientific reality. He said views shared by RFK Jr. and his staff challenged his ability to continue in service of the public's health and wrote, "Enough is enough." Daskalakis criticized HHS under Kennedy for sidelining career scientists, withholding data, and dictating immunization schedules. Sen. Rand Paul labeled Daskalakis unfit for government because of his gay lifestyle and past photos and statements.
A guy that is so far ... out of the mainstream, I think most people in America would discount his opinion because of the things he said in the past. He does not represent the mainstream of anything in America," Paul added.
"I am unable to serve in an environment that treats CDC as a tool to generate policies and materials that do not reflect scientific reality and are designed to hurt rather than to improve the public's health,"
"I find that the views [RFK Jr.] and his staff have shared challenge my ability to continue in my current role at the agency and in the service of the health of the American people. Enough is enough."
