Henry Moodie learned about himself while creating his debut album Mood Swings, finding songwriting to be the truest form of his artistry and a route to deeper self-understanding. Songwriting began in school as therapeutic processing after severe bullying. A breakthrough came at 18 when TikTok propelled his debut single "you were there for me" into mainstream success, achieving a UK top 40 placement and over 120 million Spotify streams. That momentum contributed to a billion total streams and millions of followers. Mood Swings explores coming-of-age relationships, situationships, lost loves, and formative queer teen experiences while acknowledging contemporary LGBTQ+ musical influences.
""It's almost made me understand myself on a deeper level," he tells PinkNews. "It really is the truest form of me as a songwriter.""
