Queer as Folk and It's a Sin creator gives major update on his new LGBTQ+ drama
"The five-part series will follow Leo and Clive who live next door to each other in Manchester. Leo runs a bar on Canal Street, Clive's an electrician, with two teenage sons. But just as life should be settling down, the world around them is growing more tense. "Words become weapons, opinions become radicalised, and gradually, two neighbours become deadly enemies in a tense, suburban thriller which challenges everything we consider to be safe."
"The series, populated with a cast of vibrant characters and underscored with Davies' trademark wit and deft humour, is an urgent yet gripping tale that brings a spotlight to bear on the re-emergence of an incipient threat. Tip Toe will see Davies return to the familiar setting of Manchester. Queer as Folk, Banana and Cucumber were all set in the city."
Russell T Davies has completed scripts for Tip Toe and held a read-through, announcing a cast reveal and a 2026 Channel 4 release. The five-part series follows neighbours Leo and Clive in Manchester as rising social tensions turn opinions into weapons and neighbours into deadly enemies. The plot centres on a Canal Street bar, family dynamics, and the radicalisation of public discourse that undermines everyday safety. The series promises Davies' characteristic wit alongside urgent, gripping drama and returns to the Manchester setting of his earlier queer shows.
