"Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Superintendent Drew Evans said BCA would no longer be involved in the investigation into the shooting of Renee Nicole Macklin Good. The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken over the case of the fatal shooting of a woman by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis, amid growing tensions over the incident across the state."
"The investigation would now be led solely by the FBI, and the BCA would no longer have access to the case materials, scene evidence or investigative interviews necessary to complete a thorough and independent investigation, Evans said on Thursday. He added that while it had previously been agreed that the BCA would investigate the shooting, the US attorney's office changed that."
Federal authorities have assumed sole control of the probe into the killing of Renee Nicole Macklin Good, a 37-year-old mother of three shot by an unidentified ICE agent in Minneapolis. BCA Superintendent Drew Evans said the agency will no longer participate and no longer has access to case materials, scene evidence, or investigative interviews. The US attorney's office altered prior agreements assigning the BCA to investigate. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison called the FBI decision deeply disturbing and said state authorities could pursue an independent investigation; some evidence Ellison has seen makes state charges possible. The ICE agent had been among federal officers deployed to Minneapolis.
