"brought attention to Orthodox Jewish life at Boca Grove and made the community look inviting and welcoming to Orthodox Jews, thus interfering with their goal of driving the Orthodox community away and reducing its visibility."
"recommence the lawsuit."
Boca Grove's board suspended use of amenities for Issac Scharf, who invited Instagram content creator Jake Adams to the club, and six family members after Adams' short video highlighted the development's Jewish-friendly attributes. Scharf filed a $50 million federal lawsuit accusing Boca Grove of violating the Fair Housing Act by punishing him for being visibly Orthodox at the clubhouse. The lawsuit asserted the video brought attention to Orthodox Jewish life and undermined efforts to drive that community away. The family has filed for mediation and intends to recommence the lawsuit if mediation fails.
