Richard Dick Laws, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 94, was a passionate fly fisherman and skier renowned for his zest for life. Born in Vancouver, WA, he graduated from the University of Washington before serving in Korea. Richard enjoyed a 60-year marriage with Julia Dean Augustadt, settling in Berkeley. After a successful career in sales, he focused on his love for the outdoors in Montana. Despite a brain injury in 2004, he remained active, participating in community activities and cherishing family time. His last moments were filled with warmth and connection.
Richard Dick Laws, an avid outdoorsman, cherished his retirement in Montana, finding joy in skiing and fly-fishing despite challenges from a traumatic brain injury.
Throughout his life, Dick's love for adventure never waned, from his military service to skiing double-black-diamond runs and creating beautiful memories with family.
