MiG-31 fighters deployed Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles and Russian aircraft approached NATO airspace near Poland. Local air defense systems performed effectively and intercepted most threats. Despite defenses, five deaths were reported in the metropolitan area, including an entire family and a 15-year-old girl killed at home.
