""He also found them in contempt and referred them to the Ohio Supreme Court's Office of Disciplinary Counsel for 'the most egregious violations of Rule 11' that he'd seen on the bench.""

Monetary sanctions against attorneys are rising due to the prevalence of AI-generated hallucinations in legal documents. Courts are increasingly frustrated with these cases. For instance, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court imposed a $2,500 sanction on an attorney for using AI tools without accepting responsibility. The 6th Circuit also imposed a $30,000 sanction for multiple fake citations, dismissing the case due to pervasive misconduct. Courts are taking substantial steps to address these issues.
