Left-wing politicians briefly silenced President Donald Trump's speech in Israel's parliament (the Knesset) on Monday by calling him a "terrorist" as he spoke about the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas militants in Gaza. After their protest, the politicians were led out of the legislative chamber by Knesset security. The politicians who heckled Trump were Arab-Israeli Aymen Odeh and Ofer Cassif, both of whom are members of the Hadash coalition, a left-wingpolitical coalition formed by the Communist Party of Israel, The Jerusalem Post reported.

After the defeat of Nazi Germany and the liberation of France, Senon joined the CGT union and the Communist Party. She rose up the ranks of the male-dominated trade union movement to head one of the CGT's most important women's sections in Paris. Throughout her life, Senon, who styled herself as an "eternal rebel", never gave up fighting for women's rights.

The National Students' Union organized Thursday's protests under the slogan "stop the genocide against the Palestinian people." Demonstrations, which took part in at least 39 cities and towns, varied in size from small groups to thousands who turned out in Barcelona and the capital Madrid, where students held banners with messages like "Stop Everything to Stop the Genocide," "All Eyes on the Global Sumud Flotilla," and "Free Palestine!"
