Sen. Ted Cruz made contradictory statements about U.S. terrorism risk following the U.S. and Israel bombing campaign against Iran beginning February 28. On Fox News, Cruz claimed terrorism threats are higher than in decades, attributing this to Biden-era border policies and recent terrorist attacks. However, 10 days earlier on CNN, Cruz stated that Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei's death in an Israeli airstrike made America much safer. The bombing campaign has killed over 1,000 Iranians, including Khamenei and dozens of officials, with seven Americans killed by Iranian retaliatory strikes. An elementary school in southern Iran was struck, killing approximately 175 people, mostly children.
