Federico Chiesa, signed by Liverpool from Juventus in 2024, has had limited impact, making just six Premier League appearances, primarily as a substitute. With only 104 minutes played, doubts arise about his inclusion in the team's future plans under coach Arne Slot. Despite Chiesa's struggles with fitness and performances, Slot acknowledged him among other attacking options when discussing the squad. Liverpool aims to bolster their attacking lineup, and there remains the possibility of further signings before the transfer window closes, adding uncertainty to Chiesa's role.
Liverpool signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus in 2024 and since then, the Italian has registered just six Premier League appearances. Five out of the six came from the bench.
With just 104 Premier League minutes under his belt, it's hard to argue any case for Chiesa being in Slot's plans. Fitness didn't help Chiesa last season but, let's face it, when he did play, he hardly set the world alight.
Arne Slot isn't completely ignoring Chiesa. In fact, the Dutch coach recently name-dropped Chiesa when speaking about Liverpool's attacking options.
Slot even added, as a cliffhanger: "But, as always as a club, we are always looking at the chances in the market but that can also be in the midfield or the last line."
