Aliou Cisse, the former Senegal national team coach, has taken the helm of Libyan football with a vision to reignite its competitive spirit. He was drawn to the role by the Libyan Football Federation's commitment to his coaching philosophy and its potential for growth. Cisse highlights the necessity of building a strong foundation, noting the abundance of raw talent in Libya, but also emphasizing the need for more experience and game management to succeed. He aspires to replicate his success in Senegal by fostering a new generation of players in Libya.
I chose to be here in Libya and start this project because from my very first meeting with the board members of the Libyan Football Federation I felt the willingness and how much they believed in me as a person and as a coach.
This country is full of talent and potential. My job is to put Libyan football in the place it deserves.
The players possess undeniable technical skills and there's an abundance of raw talent. What's lacking, however, is experience and improved game management.
I'm a man of a project, a builder of generations. In Senegal I had a fruitful 10-year project.
