Andoni Iraola, managing Bournemouth, stands out for his hands-on approach, reflecting on his diverse experiences at clubs like AEK Larnaca and Rayo Vallecano. Despite Bournemouth's state-of-the-art facilities, Iraola stresses the importance of teamwork and cultural values. He shares fond memories of collective responsibilities in training, believing that involvement fosters unity within the club. Transitioning to Premier League resources, he adapts to having multiple analysts and pitches but maintains his affinity for manual setups. Iraola's philosophy highlights that good culture in sports organizations comes from shared effort and commitment, even when resources improve.
I’ve needed to cut videos, make things, set up; we didn’t have goals with wheels so four of us would move them.
Even now we normally go out 90 minutes before training because I want to see life and I have my own measurements.
I think it is something cultural and if you have this in the club, you build an extra togetherness which is always good.
I still love that sometimes, in the morning after a game, everyone helps so we can put everything away quicker.
