Kasper Schmeichel, a Celtic goalkeeper, ended his career at 39 after a shoulder injury forced retirement. He visited Leicester City’s Performance Centre at Seagrave for a charity fundraiser with Leicester’s 2016 squad, reuniting with teammates from the 5,000-1 fairytale season. He could not participate on the pitch but joined in reminiscing and celebrations. He described his motivation as love for playing football and recalled Leicester’s 2015-16 champions status as globally significant. He also noted returning after four years and seeing staff he missed, including memories from Belvoir Drive training facilities with ice baths and hot baths.
