Liverpool rocked by sudden injury blow as 21-man squad vs Galatasaray confirmed
"It is never easy because there is just one goal. If I don't play, I don't mind. I have to work hard every day and that's it. My time will come for sure. Maybe not this year but my time will come. My ex-goalkeeper coach, Jose Manuel Ochotorena, when I was in Valencia, told me I have to find balance between ambition and patience, you know. So keep working hard and you never know when your chance is coming."
Liverpool will face Galatasaray in the Champions League last-16 first leg without their primary goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who sustained an injury during Monday's training session. The Brazilian shot-stopper, who has appeared in 32 matches this season, did not travel with the squad to Istanbul. Deputy keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will start in his place, with Freddie Woodman serving as backup. Mamardashvili has started nine matches for Liverpool since his summer transfer from Valencia, including seven appearances when Alisson was previously injured. The 21-man squad has been announced for the fixture.
