Scotland: Manchester United youngster called up to replace injured Billy Gilmour
Billy Gilmour was ruled out of the World Cup after injuring his knee during Scotland’s 4-1 win over Curacao at Hampden Park. The Scottish FA confirmed Gilmour will not travel and will return to Italy to begin recovery. Manchester United teenager Tyler Fletcher, son of former Red Devil Darren, was named as his replacement. Fletcher made his Scotland debut in the Curacao friendly and has played more minutes for Scotland than at senior club level. Scotland’s final warm-up is against Bolivia on Saturday, followed by the World Cup opener against Haiti in Foxborough on 13 June.
