Slot gives Alisson update as Liverpool prepare for hostile reception at Galatasaray
"Ali was in the session but unfortunately felt something towards the end. People looked at it, we decided together it was not good enough to play (on Tuesday) and was no use of travelling."
"There is definitely a chance, yes, as we don't expect it to be a big thing, but it was too much to be available for (Tuesday)."
Liverpool travels to Galatasaray for a Champions League match on Tuesday evening at Rams Park, where they previously suffered a 1-0 defeat in September. Goalkeeper Alisson will miss the fixture after sustaining a knock during training. Head coach Arne Slot brought a 21-man squad to Turkey and confirmed there is a possibility Alisson could recover in time for Liverpool's Premier League game against Tottenham on Sunday. Slot indicated the injury is not expected to be serious but deemed too significant for the goalkeeper to participate in Tuesday's European competition. Forward Federico Chiesa also did not travel with the squad.
